The Owen T. Wheeler Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit orgainization whose purpose is to generate a greater public awareness and level of support for childhood/pediatric cancer. The foundation promotes activities to raise funds in support of a number of charitable orgainzations dealing or associated with the research, diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with childhood/pediatric cancer and provides suport, including financial, to the families of children with childhood/pediatric cancer.

2007 Car Wash and Yard Sale
The 5th Annual Owen T. Wheeler Foundation Car Wash/Yard Sale will be held Saturday, August 25, 2007 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Smyrna (located at 1315 Concord Rd in Smyrna - near the intersection of Atlanta Road and Concord Rd).
Monies raised at the Car Wash/Yard Sale allow the Foundation to achieve our mission of "assisting families and organizations dealing with pediatric cancers". Specifically, we will be assisting the families of patients at the Scottish Rite Aflac Cancer Center that are in financial trouble as well as buying toys for the patients, sponsoring families at Christmas, providing “comfort kits” and much more! We are asking for your support through donations of your good "junk" to make this year's event the best yet! We will accept kids clothes (no adult clothing please), coats/jackets (kids and adults), furniture, books, toys, and just about anything else - as long as it is not broken. Donations will be accepted through Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 or you may also bring your items directly to the church on the day of the Yard Sale.
Just as last year, the Car Wash will be located in the parking lot immediately next to the Yard Sale. What a perfect opportunity to stop by and get your car washed as you do some shopping for a great cause! Donations are graciously accepted for the Car Wash as we hope to reach our goal of $1,000 from the car wash alone!

Our goal for this year's event is to raise $35,000 with proceeds to once again benefit both the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children and our own Owen T. Wheeler Foundation.
Please take this opportunity to help raise money for a great cause, enjoy a round of golf, and promote your company. The Owen T. Wheeler Foundation is dedicated to doing our part to help. As you consider how you can help us, keep these two things in mind 1) Childhood cancers are the number one disease killer of children. 2) Of all the childhood cancers, brain tumors are the leading cause of death in children under the age of 20, now surpassing acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Proceeds from the tournament are used primarily to benefit the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children (BTFC) with a total of $28,000 donated to BTFC from our first four golf tournaments. The remaining tournament proceeds are used to fund the Owen T. Wheeler Foundation's ongoing efforts in “supporting families and organizations dealing with pediatric cancers”.
